
Jimmy Chong
Jimmy Chong's past experience, both in community involvement and in his career, have allowed him to obtain the skills necessary to become an effective supervisor. His track record clearly shows that he wants to better the community around him because a stronger community can only lead to prosperity for everyone in the community.
Jimmy Chong is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey and in the District Courts of Washington DC, Delaware, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He has offices in Wilmington, DE, Lansdale, PA and Philadelphia, PA. He has handled a variety of other types of law including business transactions, landlord tenant law, contract law and criminal law. Jimmy has been rated by Super Lawyers, the National Trial Lawyers Association and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. These awards clearly represent the success he has in operating a small business which can translate to a successful term as supervisor.
He also has significant experience in the nonprofit world due to being a member of the Board of Directors in a number of organizations. He is presently a member of the Board of Directors at the Montgomery County Work Force Development (MontCo Works), the Montgomery County Community College Foundation, Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation, Penn Asian Senior Services, the Federation of Korean American Association of the North East and the Montgomery Bar Association in Pennsylvania.
He has served as a Co-Chair or Co-Vice Chair of the Montgomery Bar Association Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee from 2018-2021 and was awarded the Horace A. Davenport Diversity Award in 2019 for his activism to further diversity, equity and inclusion. He has spoken at many events on DEI topics.
Further, he is a Zone 9 Delegate for the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, a member of Congresswoman Madeleine Dean’s Racial Advisory Committee, Gwynedd Mercy University’s President Council, and highly active in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
He was appointed to the inaugural Lower Gwynedd Township Human Relations Commission in 2022.
He is a Certified Mediator and Certified Arbitrator and is a Hearing Committee Member for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Jimmy earned his JD from Widener University School of Law which is presently known as Delaware Law School and his Estate Planning Certificate through the LLM Graduate Tax Program at Temple University Beasley School of Law. He earned his BS in Business Management and BA in Economics from Bucknell University while earning the Bucknell Scholarship all four years he attended the university.
Jimmy was born and raised in the State of Delaware, lived in Philadelphia, PA for many years but now resides with his family in Montgomery County, PA. His parents immigrated from South Korea and he is proud to be an American with Korean heritage. He enjoys playing soccer, coaching youth soccer, and has run several half marathons.
